Relationships involve continuous effort and energy to learn how best to operate in unison with another person. For any couple, this can be challenging depending on life circumstances that arise. The goal of our couples therapy services is to establish a safe and trusted environment for each partner to express his or her perspectives on their relationship, while working to develop functional communication skills to improve the couple’s sense of happiness and well being within the relationship.
Through our couples therapy both partner’s will play a vital role in the success of creating a stronger sense of understanding, empathy, and communication of needs between the couple. Our couple’s therapists develop their approaches based on the unique needs of each couple in order to establish set goals for each session. Some sessions will also incorporate homework exercises to encourage the couple to apply the new communication skills in their day to day life. Couples will then reflect on these exercises and continue to build a strong sense of trust and foundation between the partners, with the ultimate goal of being able to handles future life stressors as a cohesive unit.
